From the opening chapter of the Old Testament we read that the heavenly bodies serve as signs.</div> <bR> <div> Genesis 1:14</div> <div> Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, <I><B><U>and let them be for signs</U></B></I>...”</div> <bR> <div> When Yahweh performs a work, He attests to that work through the prophetic voice of the heavenly chorus. We see a clear example of this when the wise men from the East observed the heavens and understood that a particular star was being used to foretell of the birth of the King of the Jews. Yahshua testified that such signs would also attend the days before His return.</div> <bR> <div> Luke 21:25-26</div> <div> “There will be signs in sun and moon and stars and on the earth, dismay among nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world...”</div> <div>                </div> <div> It is certain that nothing in Yahweh’s creation occurs without purpose or symbolism. Yet many signs pass before the eyes of the saints without notice, or understanding. Few are seeking the mind of the Spirit in this hour that they might walk wisely, recognizing the days they are living in and the dire things that are prophesied to occur.</div> <bR> <div> Recently, a sign has been given in the heavens of tremendous importance. The  magnitude of this sign is colossal and to ignore its message is folly. The sun's diameter, stated differently by various sources and usually rounded to the nearest 100, is about 864,900 miles (1.392 million kilometers)...</div> <bR> <div> "Right now, in a dark sky it appears as a very noticeable circular cloud," said Joe Rao, SPACE.com's Skywatching Columnist...</div> <bR> <div> "Over the next few weeks and months, the coma and tail are expected to expand even more while the comet will fade as the dust disperses," Stevenson and her colleagues write...</div> <bR> <div> Nobody knows why Holmes erupted, but it underwent a similar explosive brightening in 1892. The recent display, which began Oct. 24, brought the comet from visual obscurity to being one of the brighter objects in the night sky. It has since dimmed somewhat as the material races outward from the nucleus at roughly 1,100 mph (0.5 km/sec)...</div> <bR> <div> Prior to October 24, this comet could not be seen with the naked eye. It suddenly increased in brightness by a factor of a million times according to the website <FONT SIZE="4" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" ><A HREF="http://www.spaceweather.com" TARGET="_top" TITLE="http://www.spaceweather.com"><U><U>www.spaceweather.com</U></U></A></FONT>. Comets throughout history have been considered harbingers of evil, often presaging cataclysmic events among the people and nations of the world. To understand the meaning of any celestial message, the event must be viewed in its heavenly context. This comet has made its appearance in the constellation Perseus, as the following graphic illustrates.</div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> <IMG SRC="a9c68950.png" border=0 width="360" height="405" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> <bR> <div> In this graphic the path of the comet Holmes/17P is traced through the constellation Perseus with the moment of brightening on October 24th highlighted.</div> <bR> <div> The name Perseus is the Greek form of the Hebrew word Peretz. This Hebrew word occurs fifteen times in the Old Testament, sometimes rendered as Pharez, or Perez. The root of the word means “a break,” and in the KJV Bible it is translated as “a breach,” or as “breaking forth.” Following is an example of this name’s first occurrence in Scripture.</div> <bR> <div> Genesis 38:27-29</div> <div> And it came about at the time she was giving birth, that behold, there were twins in her womb. Moreover, it took place while she was giving birth, one put out a hand, and the midwife took and tied a scarlet thread on his hand, saying, "This one came out first." But it came about as he drew back his hand, that behold, his brother came out. Then she said, "What <I><B><U>a breach </U></B></I>you have made for yourself!" The Hebrews Zodiac is called “the Mazzaroth.” The Mazzaroth was designed by Yahweh to show forth the entire plan of redemption through the stars of the heavens. A couple of excellent books on this topic are E. W. Bullinger’s “The Witness of the Stars” which is available online, and Joseph Seiss’ book “The Gospel in the Stars.” Joseph Seiss has this to say about this constellation.</div> <bR> <div> Perseus and Christ</div> <div> Here is a divine-human son, begotten of... the Deity, a child of affliction and persecution from his very birth, but predestined by the heavenly powers to live and triumph. By his high qualities he is made the keeper and conservator of the temple of wisdom and sacred worship. Out of devotion to his king he undertakes to destroy the Gorgons as far as they are destructible. For this he descends into hell, and brings forth armor from thence. He is in communion with divine wisdom, and thereby is girded with splendor and is led unerringly. He is winged, and given a diamond sword, as Heaven’s messenger and herald to undo the powers of evil and administer deliverance and prosperity. He wounds the dire Gorgons in the head, and carries off their power. He punishes Leviathan with his “sore and great and strong sword.” He breaks the bonds of Andromeda, and makes her his bride amid high festival, at which he puts down all opposition. And thereupon he goes forth to countries far and near, punishing and expelling tyrants and usurpers, rooting out untruth and corrupt worship, and blessing and rejoicing the city and kingdom of heroes. All this interprets with wonderful literalness and brilliancy when understood of the promised Seed of the woman, the Lamb that was slain, going forward at the head of His people as The Breaker, bringing death and destruction to the monsters of evil, setting wronged captives free, and joining himself in glory everlasting. </div> <bR> <div> Clear parallels between Perseus and Christ are observed here, for the Greeks and Romans merely received an understanding of the true message of the constellations that had become corrupted and somewhat obscured over time. Christ was a divine-human son, begotten of the Heavenly Father. He was a child of affliction, born in a stable and performing His ministry as a homeless man, ending His life through crucifixion and buried in another man’s tomb. Yet He lived a life of triumph and has destroyed the power of the devil by which he had formerly kept men in torment of fear. Having descended into hell he took the keys of death and Hades and has ascended back to the Father (pictured in the winged feet of Perseus). Yahshua lived to do the will of the Father and He battled and overcame the Devil, His chief weapon being the sword of truth, speaking forth the word of faith found in His mouth. He took away the authority of Satan, and now all power and all authority have been entrusted to Him (this is pictured in Perseus holding the serpent haired head in His hand). Christ has broken the bonds that have bound His people, declaring at the start of His ministry that He came to set the captives free. This is pictured in Perseus freeing the chained figure of Andromeda who is a picture of the people of God who become the bride of Christ. And many other elements of this heavenly figure are clear testimonies of the Son of God.</div> <bR> <div> You will note that in the left hand of Perseus he is holding the head of Medusa. Joseph Seiss writes further of this sign.</div> <bR> <div> Medusa’s Head</div> <bR> <div> And that we are so to understand this figure is still further manifest in the facts and names in the reeking, snake-covered head grasped by the hero. <I>Medusa</I> means<I> the Trodden under foot</I>. The name of the principle star in this head, <I>Al Ghoul</I>, contracted into <I>Algol</I>, means <I>the Evil Spirit</I>... <I>Rosh Satan </I>and <I>Al Oneh </I>are other names of the stars in this head, which mean <I>Satan’s head</I>, <I>the Weakened, the Subdued</I>. And the invincible Subduer and Breaker is none other than the Biblical <I>Peretz</I>...</div> <bR> <div> In the left foot of Perseus is the star <I>Athik</I>, which is translated <I>the Breaker</I>. This evokes a clear correlation to the following Scripture:</div> <bR> <div> Genesis 3:14-15</div> <div> So Yahweh God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel."</div> <bR> <div> That the Medusa has hair of serpents reveals that this sign stands for Satan, the serpent of old. The One who holds the head can be none other than Christ, the Seed who was prophesied to bruise the serpent’s head.</div> <bR> <div> What then does it signify when a comet, a harbinger of calamity, is observed brightening by a factor of a million, completely circumscribing this constellation, and growing in size to be the largest object in the Solar System? Without a doubt, events of great proportion are being prophesied.</div> <bR> <div> I believe we can glean some understanding of this celestial sign as we look at the words of Joseph Seiss once more. He wrote that the hero of this constellation “goes forth to countries far and near, punishing and expelling tyrants and usurpers, rooting out untruth and corrupt worship.” There have been other signs in the heavens that have provided similar messages in recent days. I have written of some of them in the writing “Touch Not My Anointed” where it is shown that America has taken the role of a usurper as she has sought to convince Israel that peace and safety can be found as she places her trust in America’s might and good-will.</div> <bR> <div> In Scripture we read of instances when the people and rulers of Israel and Judah placed their trust in nations whose armies were hired to protect them. Yahweh always judged the rulers of Israel and Judah for looking to the arm of flesh, rather than trusting in Him. That this celestial sign is concerned with this message is revealed in the name of the comet. Holmes is an ancient family name, and the Holmes family crest is seen in the following illustration.</div> <bR> <bR> <div> <IMG SRC="a9e3f9f0.png" border=0 width="319" height="415" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> <bR> <div> Note the motto above the coat of arms. The motto reads <I>Fide sed cui vide</I>. Translated from Latin into English, the Holmes family motto reads:<I> Trust, but in whom take care.</I> This is the message of the comet. Israel has placed her trust in the arm of the flesh to save her. Israel has looked to America to provide her with safety and peace. Yet this is a role that God has reserved for Himself.</div> <bR> <div> Jeremiah 30:10-17</div> <div> 0'Fear not, O Jacob My servant,' declares Yahweh, 'And do not be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, <I><B><U>I will save you </U></B></I>from afar and your offspring from the land of their captivity. And Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease, and no one will make him afraid. <I><B><U>'For I am with you,' declares Yahweh, "to save you</U></B></I>; For I will destroy completely all the nations where I have scattered you, only I will not destroy you completely. But I will chasten you justly and will by no means leave you unpunished.' For thus says Yahweh, 'Your wound is incurable and your injury is serious. There is no one to plead your cause; no healing for your sore, no recovery for you. All your lovers have forgotten you, they do not seek you; for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the punishment of a cruel one, because your iniquity is great and your sins are numerous. Why do you cry out over your injury? Your pain is incurable. Because your iniquity is great and your sins are numerous, I have done these things to you. Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity; And those who plunder you will be for plunder, and all who prey upon you I will give for prey. For <I><B><U>I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds</U></B></I>,' declares Yahweh, 'Because they have called you an outcast, saying: "It is Zion; no one cares for her."'</div> <bR> <div> Over and over Yahweh declares, “I will save you..., I am with you... to save you,  I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds.” Any nation that seeks to replace Yahweh in being the protection of His chosen people is acting as an usurper. When the people of Israel replace Yahweh with another, they are practicing idolatry. They are giving their worship to one who is not God. Therefore, God will judge that nation and cast the idol down. Joseph Seiss’ words concerning this celestial sign is to be taken to heart, for we read of this Breaker that “he goes forth to countries far and near, punishing and expelling tyrants and <I><B><U>usurpers</U></B></I>, <I><B><U>rooting out untruth and corrupt worship</U></B></I>.”</div> <bR> <div> There is further testimony of this message found in the name of the comet. The comet is named after Edwin Holmes, who sightted the comet in 1892 after it suddenly brightened. Bob Schlenker, the owner of the website <FONT SIZE="4" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" ><A HREF="http://www.theopenscroll.com" TARGET="_top" TITLE="http://www.theopenscroll.com"><U><U>www.theopenscroll.com</U></U></A></FONT> when researching information on the name Holmes came up with the following:</div> <bR> <div>     * The boy's name Holmes \ho(l)-mes\ is pronounced holms. It is of Middle English origin, and its meaning is "holly; islands in the river". (Think Baby Names)</div> <div>     * Holmes: Meadow lands near or surrounded by water, grassy plains; sometimes an island. (Source: An Etymological Dictionary of Family and Christian Names With an Essay on their Derivation and Import; Arthur, William, M.A.; New York, NY: Sheldon, Blake, Bleeker & CO., 1857.")</div> <div>     * In establishing settlements our early British ancestors sought places which were easily defensible. Islands offered that protection. The name for such places was borrowed from word introduced by the Norse Invaders well before the Conquest - namely "Holm". It was rapidly absorbed into our native language and became almost synonymous with "habitation" or "settlement". It should be noted, though, that it is in no way related to the word "home" nor to "ham". The similarities are coincidental. (GENUKI - UK & Ireland Genealogy)</div> <bR> <div> The common theme in what is suggested about the name Holmes is that of protection, a defensible place. As islands in a river offer a measure of protection, so does holly. Excerpted from the current Wikipedia entry for holly "<I>During winter storms, birds often take refuge in hollies, which provide shelter, protection from predators (by the spiny leaves), and food." "Holly shrubs and trees are often used by homeowners and landscape architects for home security purposes. The sharp thorns of many species deter unauthorised persons from entering private properties, and may prevent break-ins if planted under windows and near drainpipes. The aesthetic characteristics of holly plants, in conjunction with their home security qualities, makes them a good choice for hedges</I>" </div> <bR> <div> The surname Holmes, then, is linked to the notion of protection and defense in the same way that holly and islands bear this same association. Yet even more is seen in the first name this comet’s discover, Edwin. According to the website <FONT SIZE="4" COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Arial" ><A HREF="http://www.behindthename.com" TARGET="_top" TITLE="http://www.behindthename.com"><U><U>www.behindthename.com</U></U></A></FONT> the name Edwin bears the meaning of “Rich Friend.”</div> <bR> <div> As we put all of these facts together, the Holmes, family motto, the origin of the surname Holmes, and the meaning of the name Edwin, we arrive at a distinct message. Trust, but in whom take care. It is foolhardy for any person or nation to put their trust in a rich friend for their protection and defense.</div> <bR> <div> Psalms 49:5-6</div> <div> Why do I fear in days of evil? The iniquity of my supplanters (usurpers) doth compass me. Those trusting on their wealth, And in the multitude of their riches, Do shew themselves foolish.</div> <div> (Young’s Literal Translation)</div> <bR> <div> In the presentation “Touch Not My Anointed” it was revealed that God has already given a clear sign of His judgment on this idolatrous trust that Israel is placing in America as the one who will protect her, and carry her to great heights. This was seen in the space shuttle Columbia disaster that carried an Israeli astronaut and which had an Israeli flag depicted on the mission patch. The folly is not just America’s, but Israel’s also, for Yahweh wants His chosen people to look to Him as their deliverer, and not rely upon the strength of man, not even the strength of a nation that boasts of being the world’s last superpower.</div> <bR> <div> The members of every shuttle mission design a patch that they all wear, and this insignia is also painted onto the shuttle before it blasts off. This is the Mission patch for the Space Shuttle Columbia crew, the crew that all perished as the space shuttle disintegrated as it reentered the atmosphere on February 1, 2003.</div> <bR> <div> According to NASA’s website, this is the meaning of the symbols on this Mission patch.</div> <bR> <div> The central element of the patch is the microgravity symbol, mg, flowing into the rays of the astronaut symbol. The mission inclination is portrayed by the 39 degree angle of the astronaut symbol to the Earth's horizon. The sunrise is representative of the numerous experiments that are the dawn of a new era for continued microgravity research on the International Space Station and beyond. The breadth of science conducted on this mission will have widespread benefits to life on Earth and our continued exploration of space illustrated by the Earth and stars. The constellation Columba (the dove) was chosen to symbolize peace on Earth and the Space Shuttle Columbia. The seven stars also represent the mission crew members and honor the original astronauts who paved the way to make research in space possible. The Israeli flag is adjacent to the name of the payload specialist who is the first person from that country to fly on the Space Shuttle.</div> <bR> <div> Notice particularly the constellation Columba and the Israeli flag.</div> <bR> <div> <IMG SRC="a56e9e00.png" border=0 width="233" height="224" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> <bR> <div> The symbolism here is extraordinary. Here we have an American space shuttle carrying the first Israel astronaut to go into space, and they have chosen the symbol of the constellation Columba, a dove bearing an olive branch, which is a universal sign of peace. The message is that America has pictured herself as Israel’s healer, who can bring peace to her land, and Israel has gone along for the ride.</div> <bR> <div> The Scriptures declare:</div> <bR> <div> Jeremiah 8:11</div> <div> “They heal the brokenness of the daughter of My people superficially, Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace.”</div> <bR> <div> Zechariah 12:2-3</div> <div> “Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around... It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; <I><B><U>all who lift it will be severely injured</U></B></I>.” </div> <bR> <div> America has attempted to lift up Israel on her shoulders and to bring her peace. As a rich and powerful friend, she has promised to provide protection from her enemies and to aid in her defense. But America cannot perform that which Yahweh said He alone will perform for His people. Nor will Yahweh leave usurpers unpunished, those who seek to lead His people to place their confidence in the arm of flesh. </div> <bR> <div> All who lift this burden will be severely injured. Yahweh is a jealous God. He will have His people looking to no other one to provide them with peace and security. The space shuttle Columbia disintegrated as it re-entered the atmosphere. It was later determined that a piece of foam had struck one of the heat shields and knocked it loose, leading to the shuttle’s disintegration. The nations of the world are vulnerable to the smallest attacks. Why trust in the arm of the flesh which can be broken in such a simple way? You can observe here both the compass and the square of Freemasonry, as well as the five pointed star which is prominently depicted in the Order of the Eastern Star.</div> <bR> <div> One must remember that the masses within these organizations are misled as to the true meaning of these symbols. The five pointed star when inverted actually stands as a symbol called the goat head of Mendes which occultists are familiar with in its association with the worship of Satan.</div> <bR> <div> According to occultic/Satanic doctrine, the upper four points of the Goathead represent the four elements of the world, Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. <I><B><U>The bottom fifth point represents the spirit of Lucifer</U></B></I>. The reason it is in America’s interests is that taking land from Israel serves to placate the Arab nations that surround Israel, nations whose oil resources America covets.</div> <bR> <div> As I was looking to the Lord to confirm the message of this heavenly sign, namely that great judgment is soon to come to America as God seeks to bring forth a Breach (Peretz) between His people and the nation she has placed her trust in, I received an e-mail that quoted a recent writing by David Wilkerson dated November 5th, 2007. soon turmoil will shake earth’s very foundation.  Prepare yourself, for many will fall and few will stand.  Fulfillment is at hand, go and speak what you have seen, and what you have heard.  The Kingdom awaits the righteous, the holy will soon see the Lord.”</div> <bR> <div> I only realized I was still holding his hand when he let go of mine, and suddenly I was back in my bed, sitting up, fully awake.  I am still unsure whether or not it was a dream, or if ‘dream’ is the right word for it, but for simplicity’s sake I will call it a dream.  </div> <bR> <div> I tried to go back to sleep but could not, vividly remembering the sorrowful look on the faces of the angels who were leading the horses out of the stables.  </div> <bR> <div> It seems the world is seeing, what the church is refusing to acknowledge, the fact that we are on the cusp of great upheaval not only in this nation, but also throughout the world.  These are the days of which the prophets spoke, the days of which Christ warned, the time of distress, of sifting and of separation.  </div> <bR> <div> My prayer is that we remember always, our hope is in the Lord, and He is faithful to those who are faithful to Him.  If one word stands out from this entire dream, it is the word ‘prepare’ and we must do so with diligence.  The children of God must steel themselves for what is coming, prepare their hearts and settle within their souls that the day in which we will have to stand for truth is soon approaching.  </div> <bR> <div> 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; Over and over in recent days I have heard the words of the following Scripture running through my mind. </div> <bR> <div> Luke 17:26-29</div> <div> “And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.”</div> <bR> <div> I want to mention a particular feature of this heavenly sign observed in the comet Holmes/17P. Unlike most comets that are observed, whose trajectories are known, and whose appearances are anticipated long in advance of their visibility, this comet brightened unexpectedly. What happened was not looked for. The meaning to be gleaned from this is that what is coming on the world will appear with great suddenness, and mankind’s reaction will be one of shock for they did not see it coming.</div> <bR> <div> Consider those who were on the earth in the days of Noah before the flood. Although Noah was a preacher of righteousness and had given warnings to the people for many years, no one believed him. When it came time to enter the ark, only Noah and his family went inside. The day was fair. It had not yet begun to rain. The earth seemed tranquil, and its inhabitants believed all would continue on as it ever had. They were pursuing a worldly course, absorbed in the activities of life. Suddenly the judgment came, and life ended.</div> <bR> <div> It was the same in the days of Lot. Sodom and Gomorrah were situated in a fertile valley. They had an abundance of all things and gave themselves over to a pursuit of pleasure, leading to much depravity. When the angels came to Sodom and were met by Lot, they told him of the judgments coming swiftly. They warned Lot to gather all his family together and be ready to leave. Lot called his sons-in-law together and told them that Sodom was soon to be destroyed. We read about their response.</div> <bR> <div> Genesis 19:14</div> <div> Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, and said, "Up, get out of this place, for Yahweh will destroy the city." But he appeared to his sons-in-law to be jesting.</div> <bR> <div> Those whom Lot warned did not receive his words. Those whom Noah warned did not receive his words. Many will not receive the words written here, but judgment, like the comet, will appear suddenly and many will perish.</div> <bR> <div> The message of this sign is not merely related to Israel placing her trust in someone other than God. It is about all of God’s children placing their trust in things, people, organizations, and governments when He would have them to place their trust in Him alone. In Yahweh’s eyes such misplaced confidence is nothing other than idolatry and false worship. He will come swiftly to render judgment and He will shake everything that can be shaken. Those who have been trusting in the arm of flesh and the things of the world will be devastated.</div> <bR> <div> Are you trusting in money in the bank to see you through days of great calamity that the heavens are prophesying are coming swiftly? Are you trusting in the Stock Market, or in IRA accounts, or insurance policies? If so, then you are leaning upon things that will be shaken in coming days, and you will be shaken along with them. If you would have God as your refuge in coming days, then you must practice leaning upon Him now. Submit to the Spirit’s leading. Cast all over onto Him and obey Him in all things.</div> <bR> <div> Zephaniah 2:3</div> <div> Seek Yahweh, all you humble of the earth who have carried out His ordinances; Seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden in the day of Yahweh’s anger.</div> <bR> <div> There are further messages contained in this sign in the heavens. The comet is marked by the number 17, and this is a significant number in Scripture. E. W. Bullinger, in his book “Numbers in Scripture” says this about the number 17.</div> <bR> <div> SEVENTEEN stands out very prominently as a significant number. It is not a multiple of any other number, and therefore it has no factors. Hence it is called one of the prime (or indivisible) numbers. What is more, it is the seventh in the list of the prime numbers.</div> <bR> <div> The series runs 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, etc. Thirteen, it will be noted, is also a prime number, and is therefore important; but it is the sixth of the series: hence it partakes of the significance of the number 6, and is indeed an intensified expression of it.</div> <bR> <div> In like manner seventeen being the seventh of the series, it partakes of and intensifies the significance of the number seven. Indeed, it is the combination or sum of two perfect numbers—seven and ten—seven being the number of spiritual perfection, and ten of ordinal perfection.</div> <bR> <div> Contrasted together the significance of these two numbers is clear; and when united in the number seventeen we have a union of their respective meanings, viz., spiritual perfection, plus ordinal perfection, or the perfection of spiritual order.</div> <bR> <div> We see a beautiful illustration in</div> <bR> <div> ROMANS 8:35-39</div> <bR> <div> which concludes the first great division of that all-important Epistle, and sums up the blessings of those who are dead and risen in Christ. First we have a series of seven, then a series of ten. The seven are marked off by being put in the form of a question, while the ten are given as the answer to it.</div> <bR> <div> "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall</div> <bR> <div>    1. Tribulation,</div> <div>    2. Or distress,</div> <div>    3. Or persecution,</div> <div>    4. Or famine,</div> <div>    5. Or nakedness,</div> <div>    6. Or peril,</div> <div>    7. Or sword? </div> <bR> <div> as it is written, For Thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that,</div> <bR> <div>    8. Neither death (1),</div> <div>    9. Nor life (2),</div> <div>   10. Nor any other creature (10), </div> <bR> <div> shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." </div> <bR> <div> I believe this list of seventeen perils is a definite part of the message of this comet. Great tribulation is coming to the earth, and this list reveals the enemies that mankind, and Christians in particular,  will be met with. Few will walk as overcomers in the midst of such peril. Few have been walking with the Lord in a relationship of obedience and trust, and therefore most will lack the confidence to trust God when evil days are upon them. Many will fall away from the faith, but through it all a purified remnant will come forth to the glory of God the Father.</div> <bR> <div> The Spirit has been impressing upon me the reality of these evil things that are swiftly coming upon the earth. Last night I sat with tears running down my face as the Spirit bore witness of the truth of the things of which I am writing. A couple days earlier I was working at the Thrift Store owned by the Rescue Mission that the Spirit of Christ has led me to be associated with for the past three years. As I was sorting books the Spirit impressed upon me that I was to read a book that was in my hand. I had never seen it before. The book was titled “Endurance, Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage.” It was an edition of the book that had a foreword written by Dr. James Dobson. </div> <bR> <div> There have been a few times when God has placed a book in my hands and in a very pointed way the Spirit has told me to read it, for it contained a message from Yahweh for my benefit. The book is a recounting of the voyage of Sir Ernest Shackleton to the South Pole. It describes the two-year ordeal of 28 men when their ship, the Endurance, became locked in the polar ice. They suffered many things, and spent themselves to the point of exhaustion time and again in various trials against the fury of nature. There has seldom been witnessed a greater manifestation of relentless endurance by a group of men, and the result is that all made it through with their lives.</div> <bR> <div> As I read the book the Spirit bore witness that this is a message for those who would pass through the days ahead. What is coming will require perseverance, patience, and much endurance. Many hearts will fail them for fear. Many will shrink back from following God. But a remnant will trust God, endure much hardship, and by their endurance they will save their souls.</div> <bR> <div> Luke 21:10-19</div> <div> Then He continued by saying to them, "Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name's sake. It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony... But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death, and you will be hated by all because of My name. Yet not a hair of your head will perish.<I><B><U> By your endurance you will gain your souls.</U></B></I>”</div> <bR> <div> The following words of Paul describe many of the same trials experienced by the men who went on the voyage with Shackleton, along with some additional distresses.</div> <bR> <div> II Corinthians 6:4-5</div> <div> In everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses, in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger...</div> <bR> <div> Few Christians have any experience of such hardship. Not because Christians of this hour are exempted by God from suffering such trials, but because most Christians have failed to follow God wherever He would lead them. They have chosen their own course and asked God to bless it. They have chosen for themselves ease and comfort and pleasure. They have heaped up to themselves teachers to tickle their ears and tell them the things they want to hear. They have rejected the preaching of the disciple’s cross and have replaced it with a message of prosperity. The result is that most saints are soft and untrained, ill prepared to face the severity of the days to come.</div> <bR> <div> Back around 1998 a young woman in the church of which I was a minister arose to speak a prophetic word. She prophesied that the Lord was about to lead some of His children through difficult days of preparation, but it was necessary that the preparation be difficult due to the great difficulty of the days which were to follow. Shortly after the Lord led my family and me into an experience of trusting Him for our every provision. For four of the next six years I had no employment and no church to support me. I labored at the task of writing that the Lord led me to. He led us through many trials, many hardships, and many fearful situations, yet He never failed us. He brought us through safely and with no harm to ourselves.</div> <bR> <div> I have continued to walk in this manner, surrendered to the will of God. Going where He says to go. Doing those things He has led me to do. The Lord has toughened me spiritually through many trials. Some things that used to produce great fear in me no longer have the same effect. I have learned to be content in whatever circumstance I am in. I have a legacy of experiences behind me. I have observed Yahweh’s protection and provision in a thousand ways. I have seen miracles of divine intervention that few Christians of this hour have known in their own lives. All of these things will be found to have prepared me to stand in the days ahead.</div> <bR> <div> Have you similarly sought the will of Yahweh? Are you following Him where He is leading, or are you directing your own path? Are you finding Him to be a faithful provider, a vigilant protector, a supernatural healer? Or is your trust in lesser things. The days ahead will reveal the wisdom and the folly of the choices we have made. We are called to trust, but in Whom we trust we must take care.</div> <bR> <div> Hebrews 10:36-39</div> <div> For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry.  Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him."  But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.</div> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
